The Background



For the past two decades, the culture of hip hop has grown exponentially, becoming a global force. It is aculture that thrives on being recognized and seen through various forms of art such as music and dance. Youth today are growing with the evolution of hip hop, and the industry has shown enormous growth with the widespread coverage of hip hop dancers on hit TV shows such as “America’s Best Dance Crew” and “So You Think You Can Dance”.

The Competition



Nu-Lite Entertainment, Fuel Productions, Global Dance Collective, and CASS have come together to honour and celebrate the growing hip hop dance industry by hosting a global competition in Toronto, Canada.

This event is called The Beat Down Hip Hop Dance Competition, which will take place on Saturday October 24, 2009 at the Ryerson Theatre in Downtown, Toronto.Dance crews interested in competing may contact us at registration@feelthebeat.ca for more information.
