Under the artistic direction of Leah Totten, BOSS is a professional collective of elite female dancers training in urban dance styles who are given the tools to build performance experience, compete in prestigious choreography environments and gain industry exposure.
The dance industry can be extremely competitive and cut-throat. Young women are pressured to conform to certain norms and need a safe support system with an environment that encourages and enables growth with individual guidance and mentoring. BOSS acts as a sisterhood to its dancers while maintaining strong work ethic and drive for success.
Dancers will train in various elements of urban dance: both commercial choreography and hip hop fundamentals to prepare for a full-length production in 2014.
In the past, BOSS has conducted private workshops and training sessions with the following professionals:
House – Apolonia Vasquez
Popping – Andrew ‘Pyro’ Chung
